From the Times of 13 Feb 2026: LUCAS Sir Thomas Edward Gubbins passed peacefully on 13th January, aged 95, at Colchester General Hospital. Much-loved husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Funeral service to take place at Colchester Crematorium on Wednesday 18th February at 1.45pm and afterwards at The Crown, Ardleigh. Family flowers only please. He was s of Lt Ralph John Scott LUCAS 1904-ka1941 (gs of Sir Thomas LUCAS 1 Bt 1822-1902) and Dorothy 1899-1985 d of Maj Henry Thomas TIMSON 1869-1928 and Edith Theodosia 1859-1913 d of Hon St Leger Richard GLYN 1825-70 (s of 1 Baron WOLVERTON 1797-1873) and Florence Elizabeth 1827-87 d of James Wilmot WILLIAMS 1799-1845 of Herringston, Dorset by his 17 July 1824 m (St George, Hanover Sq) to Elizabeth Anne 1796-1882 d of Col Richard MAGENIS 1763-1831 and his 1 w Lady Elizabeth Anne COLE d 1807 d of 1 Earl of ENNISKILLEN 1736-1803. He m first 1958 Charmian Margaret 1934-70 d of Lt-Col James Crauford POWELL 1908-71 by his 29 July 1933 m (Christ Church, Mayfair) to Charmian Stanley 1901-77 d of William BEITH 1873-1922 by his 15 Dec 1897 m (Queensland) to as her 1 h Margret Henrietta STANLEY 1875-1935, and had a son. He m second 1980 Mrs Anne J Graham MOORE. His son succeeds him.
