He was the son of Henry Montagu Bagot CHESTER (1896 - 1969), scion in the male line of the BAGOT barons, and Alyce Amy Maude TRANCHELL (died 1934).  He m 1972 (as her 2nd h) Pauline Lillian BUTT (nee NICHOLLS).

I believe he was lately second heir to BAGOT baronetcy (E 1627), held by his kinsman 10th Baron Bagot, as a male line descendant of Sir Walter BAGOT, 5th Baronet (1702 - 68).

I've gone through the heirs of DB 2008 & thepeerage:

10th Baron Bagot & 15th Baronet (born 1944)

Richard Charles Villiers BAGOT (1941 - 2015)

Julian William D'Arcy BAGOT (born 1943), hp to barony & baronetcy

In remainder to baronetcy only

John Greville Bagot CHESTER (1925 - 2011)

Greville Derrick Bagot CHESTER (1925 - 1989)

I believe with this death there are no further heirs to the baronetcy after the 10th Baron and his hp.

Henry W, thanks for your post.

I'm looking at the most recent Debrett's, and there are no other heirs in remainder.

It appears that the last in remainder is Julian, and after that, the barony and baronetcy will become extinct.
