Just some additions re: the Bonas family, since I made notes on them in the past:

Harry George Bonas 1917-1983, of Grangewood Hall, Netherseale, Derbys., formerly of Stanton Manor, Burton, managing director, Bonas Brothers (producers of, int. al., elastic for tights) m. 1941, Winifred (1918-2010), O.B.E., J.P., dau. of - Hodgkins. It was he who greatly increased the company's revenue and raised the family's status to the point where his son, Jeffrey Harry Bonas (1944-), attended Harrow and Oxford, and married a peer's daughter.

He s. of George Bonas (1877-1949), initially in business with his elder brother Joseph at Plough Road, Battersea as butchers and general grocers, but when this endeavour failed he worked for his uncle Joseph at his tape-manufacturing factory in Derby, later opening his own at Castle Gresley; he m. Alice Mary (1883-1959), dau. of - Smith.

His father John Bonas (1847-), of Burton-on-Trent, Staffs., formerly Church Street, Bedworth, nr Nuneaton, Warwicks., grocer, m. 1869, Sophy, dau. of John Dewis. He also worked in tape manufacture and as a factory engineer per census records.

This article, albeit from the 'Scottish Daily Mail', which from the name mightn't be the very best source, gives an interesting look (albeit in rather flowery language) at the family: https://www.pressreader.com/uk/scottish-daily-mail/20130302/283171490948793

An addition/ correction: other sources indicate Jeffrey Bonas's middle name to be 'Hal'; his Oxford college was Oriel, where he read Modern History, and per Leviathan: The Business Who's Who of 1972, took an M.A.

I'm afraid I haven't got a conclusive answer, save to say that the BLG 1952 Wentworth-Stanley pedigree merely starts (as, based on the above, you probably already know!) with Daniel Wentworth and Mary, she being dau. of Joseph Stanley being of Holbeck Woodhouse, Notts. One would imagine that if even a distant link to the Earls of Derby were to exist, they'd make sure to mention it. Of course the lack of such a mention doesn't preclude the possibility of a relationship of which the family are (or were then) unaware. Earlier LG editions (inc. 1894) feature 'Stanley of Longstowe Hall', this being headed by Sidney Stanley (né Wentworth), son of William Wentworth and grandson of the aforementioned Daniel and Mary; this family subsequently becomes the Wentworth-Stanleys of High Wych. This pedigree also starts with Joseph of Holbeck Woodhouse and makes no mention of the Earls of Derby.

The Stanley arms are given in BLG 1894 and 1952 as: 'a saltire between two stags' heads caboshed bendwise between two bendlets engrailed arg.'

Has there ever been a particularly famous member of this family? For whatever reason, the name 'Wentworth-Stanley' immediately rang a bell, which, given what appears to be the family's not particularly distinguished middling gentry status, is hard to explain.

On a non-peerage note, Clare (Steel) Marchioness of Milford Haven, descends from a wealthy American family, the Husteds, and her uncle, John Grinnell Wetmore Husted Jr., was the first fiancé of Jacqueline Bouvier (1929-94), later world famous as Jacqueline Kennedy and Jacqueline Onassis. How's that for "fun facts?"
