Richard Kay reveals what many of us had guessed, that the new baby is
named after her gt gt gm:

Lady Anastasia (Zia) Wernher 1892-1977
/
Georgina Wernher (Mrs Harold Philips) 1919-2011
/
Natalia Philips (Duchess of Westminster) b 1959
/
Lady Edwina Snow (nee Grosvenor) b 1981
/
baby Zia b 2011

Outlook rosy for a little Snow
There will probably never be any money worries for eight-day-old Zia
Snow, the daughter of TV historian Dan Snow whose father is former
Newsnight presenter and BBC election guru Peter Snow. For Zia’s other
grandfather is billionaire landowner the Duke of Westminster, the
fourth richest man in the land.
Dan, 32, married Lady Edwina Grosvenor, 30, last autumn, with a
honeymoon in Cambodia.
But the trip will be particularly memorable because Zia, Dan tells me,
is a honeymoon baby. She was born last week at the Portland Hospital
and mother and daughter are now at home in the New Forest. ‘We haven’t
got any help but my mother-in-law is coming tomorrow and she is
brilliant with the baby,’ says Dan.
The baby is named after Edwina’s maternal great-grandmother Lady Zia
Wernher, the former chatelaine of Luton Hoo. ‘She was reputed to be an
absolute dragon,’ says Dan. ‘But she’s long since gone and we
absolutely love her name.’

It may be worth mentioning that Zia was born (morganatically) Countess
Anastasia Michaelovna de Torby (Luxembourg title), daughter of His
Imperial Highness the Grand Duke Michael of Russia and a great-
granddaughter of Czar Nicholas I. Her sister Countess Nadejda de Torby
married the 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven...
