His widow is Anthea Peronelle dau of Maj Hugh John Maxwell HYSLOP of
the LG family Hyslop former of Lotus (1905-?) and his former wife
Josephine, dau of Maj Barton. The Maxwell in her father's name refers
to the family's descent from a brother of the 7th Lord Herries & 3rd
Earl of Nithsdale and hence they are collaterals of the Dukes of
Norfolk.
Lady Rees was previously married (1954) to Maj Jac Wendell by whom she
had issue, two daughters, one of whom, Serena, is the current (2nd)
wife of the present (7th) Marquess of Bute. Lady Lola Affrica Crichton-
Stuart (b 1999 - the year of their marriage) is their daughter.
