_The engagement was announced 18 January, 2010, between Alexander
Simon Ramsay (b 12 January, 1977), scion of the Earls of Dalhousie,
son of the Hon Anthony Ramsay (b 2 Mar 1949), by his 1st wife the
former Georgina Mary Astor (b 10 Mar 1952), scion of the Viscounts
Astor (now Mrs Lorne Nelson, of Kilmaronaig, Argyll, & Caroline
Taylor, third daughter of Mr Jonathan Taylor, of Fulham, and Mrs
Victoria Taylor, of Shepherd's Bush, London.

The current earl has only one unmarried son (per Debrett's 2008).
Next in line is the earl's younger brother Anthony and then his only
son, the bridegroom to be.
