From the Times of 16 May 2019: HOWARD Lady Jane (nee Waldegrave) on 6th May 2019, aged 85. Jinny, beloved mother of Jane, Katie, Caro, Alex, Andrew and Emma and grandmother of 17, died quietly at home. A private cremation in Cambridge will be followed by a burial service in Chewton Mendip at a later date.

She was d of 12th Earl WALDEGRAVE (1905-95) and Mary Hermione GRENFELL (1909-95), scion of the GRENFELL barons and descended from the 2nd Earl SPENCER - with all the royal associations and kinships that suggests. She m 1st 1954 (div 1977) as his 1st w the 4th Baron STRATHCONA & MOUNT ROYAL (1923-2018), and had 2 sons (including the present 5th Baron b 1961) and four daus. She m 2nd 1977 Duncan MCINTOSH OBE AFC. They div 1979 when she reverted to using the surname from her 1st marriage.
