The QUEEN has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal
of the Realm dated in the forenoon of 20 December 2010 to confer
the dignity of a Barony of the United Kingdom for life upon John
Kevin Sharkey, Esquire, by the name, style and title of Baron Sharkey,
of Niton Undercliff in the County of the Isle of Wight.

John Kevin Sharkey. Born 24 September 1947 (reg Q4 West Bromwich,
Staffs). Son of Edward Kevin SHARKEY and Mary M FLYNN. Educ Univ of
Manchester (BSc Maths); m 1977 Astrid N W SUTTON (b 1948 reg Q2
Woolwich London dau of Paul G W Sutton and Margaret H BEZZANT) and has
three daus. Chairman of the Liberal Democrat 2010 General Election
campaign.

Margaret Thatcher during the 1987 general election campaign. He is
very much a man who acts in the shadows, but is important enough to
have an ‘in tray’ in the Leader’s office. He’s tasked with advising
Clegg on how to break the two party stranglehold – so far [Sept 2008]
to little effect. He rose to become joint Managing Director of Saatchi
& Saatchi with special responsibility for the Turkish government's
