From the Telegraph of 13 May 2023: BAKER-CRESSWELL Barbara (née Scrope) died peacefully at home on 4th May 2023 aged 86. Beloved wife of Charles for 59 years. Mother of John, Ned and Ralph, grandmother of Lucy, Tom, Walter, Kit and Andy. Requiem Mass at St Aidan's Parish Church, Bamburgh at 2 p.m. on Friday 26th May.

She was d of Ralph Henry SCROPE 1905-81 scion of that gentry family of Danby and Lady Beatrice Anne SAVILE 1910-73 d of 6^th Earl of MEXBOROUGH 1868-1945 and Hon Margaret Eva de Burgh KNATCHBULL-HUGESSEN 1883-1957 d of 2^nd Baron BRABOURNE 1857-1909 (and gd of 1^st Baron ALLENDALE 1829-1907, gt gd of 1^st Marquess of CLANRICARD (of 1825 cr) 1802-74, 2xgt gd The Viscountess CANNING 1776-1837 (wife of the British PM George CANNING 1770-1827) etc etc). She m 1964 Maj Charles Addison FitzHerbert b 1935 s of Capt Addison Joe BAKER-CRESWELL DSO RN 1901-97 (who he succ. as) head of that gentry family f/o Cresswell and Rona Eileen 1907-97 d of Hubert Earle VAILE of Glade Hall, Auckland, New Zealand, and had three sons:
