From the Times of 27 Feb 2023: DENNING Charles Henry David (David) died on 20th February 2023, aged 89. Devoted husband to Patricia, deceased. Much-loved and loving husband to Elizabeth. Adored father of James, Guy, Sophia and Venetia and stepfather, proud grandfather, stepgrandfather and great-grandfather. Deeply loved and greatly missed. Thanksgiving service to be held at St Mary’s Church, Ticehurst, at 11.30am on Saturday, 1st April.

He was s of Lt-Gen Sir Reginald Francis Stewart DENNING KCVO KBE CB 1894-1990 (bro of the Law Lord Baron DENNING OM PC 1899-1999) and Eileen Violet OBE 1901-92 d of Henry Wilford CURRIE 1870-1941 scion of the CURRIE-BLYTH gentry family of Sandown House and Lillie Ethel 1871-1951 d of Henry David BLYTH 1844-1923 of Knebworth, Herts, by his 1867 m reg Q1 London to Elizabeth BARRON c1845-. He m 1958 Patricia Margaret 1936-96 d of Nigel Loftus Henry FANE 1904-73 (8xgt gs of 1^st Earl of WESTMORLAND 1580-1628) and Catherine Henrietta 1909-1968 d of Henry Percy HUSSEY 1865-1945 scion of that gentry family of Scotney Castle (and gt gs of 1^st Earl of POWIS 1754-1839, also gs of The Baroness WINDSOR 1797-1869 etc etc) and Margaret Anne PEEL 1875-1923 (gt gd of Sir Robert PEEL 1^st Bt 1750-1830, as well gt gd of Sir John Hesketh LETHBRIDGE 3^rd Bt 1798-1873 and gd of Sir Hugh WILLIAMS 3^rd Bt 1802-76), and had two sons and two daus as above.
