From the Telegraph of 30 May 2025: WINGFIELD DIGBY Biddy (née Clowes), 7.11.1927 – 26.5.2025. Loving wife of the late Richard and mother of Toby, George, Sophie and Jack. Grandmother to twelve and great grandmother to eight. Her strength, love and wisdom was an example to us all. Service of Thanksgiving in Sherborne Abbey on Wednesday 23rd July at 3.30 p.m.

She was d of Hugh Murchison CLOWES DSO 1885-1956 of Overbury Court, Alton, Hants, formerly of The Grange, Somerton, Somerset by his 25 March 1919 m (Christ Church, Mayfair) to Diana Violet 1893-1970  d of Robert Wake PRETOR-PINNEY 1868-1950 sometime head of that gentry family of Somerton Erleigh and Violet Mary 1866-1938 d of Rev Edmund Baskerville MYNORS 1823-1906 scion of that gentry family of Treago and Horatia Charlotte Campbell 1823-83 d of John CRAWFURD 1783-1868 (ODNB, sometime Governor of Singapore) and his 2^nd w Anne Horatia PERRY 1802-55. She m 1954 Richard Everard MC 1918-94 s Rev Stephen Harold WINGFIELD DIGBY 1872-1942 scion of that gentry family of Sherborne Castle and Coleshill (and 2xgt gs of 1^st Earl DIGBY 1731-93, etc) and Elinor Escreet Lewin 1882-1974 adopted dau of Basil Edwin RICHARDSON of Hill House, Stanstead Abbots, Herts (birth dau of Samuel LEWIN 1838-1912 by his 18 April 1871 m (Stoke Newington) to Elizabeth Jane WEBB 1842-1919), and had three sons and a dau.
