From the Telegraph of 20 Feb 2024: DAVIES OF LLANDINAM Lord David died peacefully on 7th February 2024, aged 83. Husband to the late Lady B Davies. Father to Eldrydd, Daniel, Lucy and Ben. Chairman of Welsh National Opera 1975-2000. Master of the David Davies Hunt 1963-2024. Funeral service at Llandinam Presbyterian Chapel at 12pm on Saturday 2nd March.

He was s of Maj 2^nd Baron DAVIES 1915-ka1944 (in Sept, having succ as 2^nd Baron on 16 June that year) and Ruth Eldrydd 1916-66 d of Maj William Marshall DUGDALE CB DSO TD 1881-1952 scion of that gentry family of Wroxall Abbey and Ruth Edith d of Rt Hon Sir John Eldon BANKES GCB 1854-1946 sometime head of that gentry family of Soughton Hall and Edith ETHELSTON 1856-1931 scion of that gentry family f/o Hinton Hall. He m 1972 Beryl c1941-2020 d of William James OLIVER of Harborne, Birmingham, and had two sons and two daus as above. His elder son succeeds him.

(DAVID) DANIEL Davies 4^th Baron DAVIES b 23 Oct 1975, has yet to establish claim. He m 2001 Leyla Natasha d of Martin POPE of Holland Pk, London. No issue shown in DPB online.

Who's Who 2025 Online states that David Davies, 4th Baron Davies and his wife Leyla Natasha Pope have issue: A SON & A DAUGHTER - No names or dates of birth are given, i question this as the obituary for the 3rd Baron mentions his 4 children but no grandchildren but Hon Eldrydd who is married to a Tyson John Lamp has 4 children - BAYDEN B.2006 - OSCAR B.2009 - FREYA B.2011 - SASKIA B.2013 - so a big question (if this is correct) is why these grandchildren are not mentioned in his obituary.

Thanks for the information.  I can only guess that they are a very private family, wanting to release as little information as possible.

While understandable, it makes it very frustrating to those of us who keep track of those things.  I, for one,  hope that at least information on an ha, hp and  their eldest son (or in some cases, daughter) in the immediate line of succession were more readily available.  Having to find out, on the death of a peer,  that they had a son/sons and/or grandsons is very strange.
