He is a scion of the Hervey-Bathurst baronets, his 1st wife is a dau of the 2nd Viscount Ingleby and his 2nd wife is a scion of the Dukes of Rutland. He inherited the Eastnor Castle estate from his mother (only child of the 6th Baron Somers) following her death in 1986
