Continuning with this genealogy series, here is the genealogy of the Temple family, Earls Temple of Stowe. I also added the Brydges family, Dukes of Chandos etc. This is one of the first genealogies I wrote back in 2021. 

TEMPLE OF STOWE, E

Arms: Quarterly I and IV quarterly Sable and Or a bend Argent (Langton), II Gules a fess between three cross crosslets fitchée Or (Gore), III quarterly I and IV Or an eagle displayed Sable II and III Argent two bars Sable each charged with three martlets Or (Temple).

Crests: (1) An eagle Or and a wyvern Vert both of their necks entwined reguardant (Langton); (2) On a mount Vert an heraldic tiger salient Argent collared Gules (Gore); (3) On a ducal coronet a martlet Or (Temple).

Supporters: Dexter a lion rampant per fess nebuly Or and Gules gorged with a ribbon of the last pendant therefrom an escutcheon of the Arms of Langton; Sinister a horse Argent semée of eaglets displayed Sable gorged with a ribbon Gules pendant therefrom an escutcheon of the Arms of Gore.

Particularly interesting is the later history of the Temple of Stowe Baronetcy. As can be seen on my page

a false line of Temples claimed it from 1786, and for many years they were accorded the title in the Peerage books of the day. This line was in fact descended through a female line from the first Baronet, but the agnatic ancestry they claimed was found to be fictional.
