Scott - The marriage took place quietly in Kirkcudbright, on April 29, between Ludovic, son of the late Sir Houston Shaw Stewart, Bt, MC, of Ardgowan, and of the Hon Mrs Christopher Chetwode, and Jennifer, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Gavin Scott, of Kirkcudbright.

Sir Ludovic Houston 12th Bt b 12 Nov 1986 only s of Sir Houston Mark SHAW STEWART 11^th Bt 1931-2004 and as her 1^st h (her 2^nd h is a gs of FM Baron Chetwode) Lucinda Victoria b 1949 reg Q4 N Yorks (Hon Mrs Christopher Chetwode) d of Alexander Kendal Humphrey FLETCHER 1923-2004 of Wighill, Tadcaster, N Yorks by his 1943 m reg Q2 N Yorks to Monica Elizabeth Hastings 1920-1987 d of ACM Sir Charles Edward Hastings MEDHURST KCB OBE 1896-1954 scion of that gentry family of Kippax Hall by his 1 Feb 1919 m (Fulford, Yorks) to Christobel Elizabeth 1898-1983 d of Rev Thomas Edward Barlow GUY.

Sir Ludovic’s presumptive heir is his New Zealand cousin DONALD MICHAEL b 1944 who is m with two sons and a dau.

The new Lady Shaw Stewart's parents would appear to be Gavin Stewart SCOTT (born 26 V 1951), a retired solicitor, and his wife (marriage registered 1978, ref 662 / 228 - Saltcoats), Sheila Elizabeth CURWEN (who appears to be the Sheila E Curwen whose birth was registered in 1956, ref 599 / 252 - Kilwinning). I suspect that Lady Shaw Stewart herself is the Jennifer Louise SCOTT whose birth was registered in Kirkcudbright in 1985 (ref 865 / 54), but as the Scottish records do not show the mother's maiden surname, I cannot be sure.
