PAGE WOOD, Sir Anthony John, 8th Baronet (1951-2025?)

A few days ago the Official Roll of the Baronetage showed the Wood baronetcy (UK 1837) of Hatherley House as being vacant.  Sir Anthony John Page Wood, 8th Baronet must therefore have died.  I have been looking out for a death notice/obit but haven't been able to find one so I thought I would post anyway in the hope that someone else may be more successful

He was the s of Sir John Hatherley David Page Wood, 7th Baronet (1921-1955) and (m 1947) Evelyn Hazel Rosemary BELLVILLE (c1925-2009).  He m 1997 Kristine Louise SCOTT - no issue apparently.  

Sir Anthony is succeeded by his kinsman (descended from the 5th son of the 2nd Bt) Mark William Evelyn WOOD, 9th baronet (subject to proving his claim) b 1 Aug 1940 m 1962 Mary June MILLER  and has issue:-

1.  MARTIN EVELYN b 14 Jan 1963 heir apparent  m 1997 Helen Catriona STONE 

1. Michelle Leslie Evelyn b 1965 m with issue

So the Offical Roll of the Baronetage don't have a date of death for the 8th Baronet !

Wikipedia has use this page as a reference for the death to be in 2025. It might be 2024 or even 2023.

The Secretary of the SCB has told me the heir presumptive reported to him that Sir Anthony died on 3 March 2025

Sir Anthony John Page-Wood, 8th Baronet, husband to Kristine, stepfather to India, brother to Rosemary Teacher, uncle to James Teacher, left us on 3 March 2025, aged 74, after a long illness. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will take place at St Luke's Church, Sydney Street, Chelsea, London, on 4 June 2025.

One observation: Over the years I have continually seen families who drop the hyphen between their multiple surnames. This is an unusual case of a family which has ised no hyphen in the Peerage works, but DOES use a hyphen in this announcement.

DPB Online hasn't updated the page yet (no pun intended), but the hp, his son, and all of those in remainder appear to just use the last name WOOD.

After Martin Evelyn, heir apparent  next in line is Victor Arthur Evelyn Wood (b. 1927) and he has 3 sons.

It appears the new baronet is going with a hyphenated name, EVELYN-WOOD (Mark William EVELYN-WOOD).  He was born in 1940.

His son, MARTIN (b. 1963) is the ha.  He is married, but without children.

Next in line, as gorgo's post stated, are the descendants of Diarmuid Evelyn WOOD (possibly EVELYN WOOD).  Diarmuid died in 2008, and was married twice.

The line of succession:

1. MARTIN (b. 1963), son of the current baronet, and ha

2. Damian Evelyn  (b. 1962), Diarmuid's son from his first marriage

3. Benedict Damian Evelyn  (b. 1993), Damian's elder son

4. Barnaby Jonathan Evelyn (b. 1996), Damian's younger son

5. Duncan Fitzgerald Evelyn (b. 1981), Diarmuid's son from his second marriage

6. Arthur James Evelyn (b. 2019), Duncan's son

It does appear, from the information in DPB Online, that going forward, the family name is EVELYN-WOOD, or EVELYN WOOD)
