Lord O Neill

The post longest held peerages post seems to have a fault which deletes replies. In answer to the question regarding Lord O'Neill he is the fourth baron and succeeded in 1944.He is a former Lord Lieutenant of Antrim and nephew of the former Northern Ireland Prime Minister Terence O Neill.His late wife was a cousin of the Duke of Gloucester. His mother was a grand daughter of  the eleventh Earl of Wemyss.She married three times firstly the third Lord O Neill,the second Viscount Rothermere and thirdly Ian Fleming.Lord O Neill is also a great grandson of the seventh Duke of Buccleuch.

Aha! It would have helped if you had said Baron O'Neill - The Chichester Clarks are cousins of mine, as are the Rothermeres, Hobhouses, ut ultra!
