From the Telegraph of 10 Feb 2025: SCOTT ELLIOT Lt Col Alastair William , formerly Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, died peacefully in hospital on 1st February. Much loved husband of Frances Gail, cherished father of Robin and Simon, and grandfather of five. Funeral at Stirling Crematorium, FK7 8AJ on Wednesday 19th February at 2 p.m. Donations to Macmillan Cancer Support.

He was s of Maj-Gen James SCOTT ELLIOT CB CBE DSO 1902-1996 (who he succ. as) head of that Scots gentry family of Kirkconnel Lea and his 1^st w Cecil Margaret DU BUISSON scion of that gentry family of Saint’s Hill House. He m 1^st 1969 (div 1996) Andrena Christian b 1943 d of Lt-Col Charles Patrick ANDERSON and Christian Maule c1916-2014 d of Sir Alexander JARDINE 10^th Bt of Applegarth 1868-1942 by his w a 2xgt gd of 8^th Earl of DALHOUSIE c1730-1787, etc, and had two sons (the elder ROBIN JAMES succeeds as family head). He m 2^nd 1997 Frances Gail d of Cyril Arthur Frederick FULLER-SHAPCOT.
