James Alastair Geoffrey Fawcett died suddenly on 6 February 2025, aged sixty, husband to Lara and father of Mungo, Bevan and Tallulah. Son of Sara, brother to Julia and Nonie and friend to many. Funeral on Thursday, 6 March, in York Minster.

His wife is sister of Bear Grylls, and descends from the marriage of Rt. Rev. Edward Stuart Talbot, Bp of Winchester (1844-1934), of the Earls of Shrewsbury & Waterford, and Hon. Lavinia Lyttelton (1849-1939).
