From the Telegraph of 4 March 2025: STEPHENSON Henry Upton. Peacefully at home on 15th February 2025 aged 98 years. Much loved and loving husband of Sue, dear father of Fiona, Annabel, Emma and Lucy, and a proud grandfather. He succ. his father in 1982 but never established his claim and the title appears as dormant on the Official Roll.

He was s of Sir Henry Francis Blake STEPHENSON 2nd Bt 1895-1982 and Joan 1901-2000 dau of John Herbert UPTON 1865-(Nov)1930 sometime head of that gentry family f/o Ingmire Hall (a yr s of Clement UPTON-COTTRELL-DORMER 1827-80 sometime head of that gentry family of Rousham) and his 1st w Hilda 1865-1919 d of Horace Dormer TRELAWNY 1824-1906 (4xgt gs of Sir John TRELAWNY 2nd Bt 1623-81) and Hon Maria Katherine WALSH 1836-1910 d of 1st Baron ORMATHWAITE 1798-1881 and Lady Jane GREY 1803-77 d of 6th Earl of STAMFORD 1765-1845 and Lady Henrietta Charlotte Elizabeth CHARTERIS 1773-1838 (gd of 7th Earl of WEMYSS 1723-1808, etc etc). He m 1962 Susan Diana Ruth b 1942 d of Maj John Ernest CLOWES TD 1908-72 scion of that gentry family Norbury and his former w (her 1st h) June Darby 1921-2014 (Mrs Maurice Kingscote) d of Edward Mark PHILIPS OBE 1879-1936 scion of that gentry family f/o Heybridge and as her 1st of 3 h Augusta Diana O’Carroll 1893-1991 (Mrs Cedric Boyd) d of Jonathan Charles DARBY 1855-1943 sometime head of that Irish gentry family of Leap Castle and Mildred Henrietta Gordon DILL 1867-1932 scion of that Irish gentry family, and had four daus. The right to claim the title passes to his 1st cousin once removed.

He was the oldest baronet.  The oldest is now Sir Dallas Bernard b 14 Dec 1926
