From the Telegraph of 12 Sep 2025: Mr G.C. Blandford-Newson and Miss I.C.C. Brown - The engagement is announced between Guy, son of Mr and Mrs Chris Blandford-Newson, of Upperton, West Sussex, and Imogen, daughter of Brigadier (Retd) and Mrs Edward Brown, of Milford, Surrey.

Ruth Mary Sandy's birth was registered in Howden, but her mother's maiden surname was Doncaster. The marriage of John R SANDY (probably the one whose birth was registered in Cuckfield in Q3 1931) and Clare R DONCASTER (birth registered Q1 1935 - Macclesfield) was registered in Marylebone in Q1 1958. They appear to have had three children, of whom Ruth was the youngest.

Ruth Sandy's maternal grandfather would appear to have been the Clarence Frederick DONCASTER (1894 - 2 IX 1964) who was the Liberal candidate in the Macclesfield constituency in the 1950 General Election (he came third). Her maternal grandmother, whose marriage to Mr Doncaster was registered in Paddington in Q3 1924, was Honor Dempster COLLINS (22 X 1895 - 9 XII 1987).
