The Hon. Leonard was a descendant of the Cohen family, one of the
legendary Jewish families included in the book "The Cousinhood" by
Chaim Bermant.

Lord Cohen, father of the deceased, was a grandson of Lionel Louis
Cohen (1832-1887). Lionel was the 4th son of Louis Cohen
(1799-1882). Lionel's brother (the 9th son of Louis) was Sir Benjamin
Cohen, 1st Bt. Another one of Lionel's brothers (the 11th son of
Louis), Nathaniel, was the grandfather of Sir Bernard Waley-Cohen, 1st
Bt. A daughter of Louis (sister to Lionel, Benjamin and Nathaniel)
married the 1st Baron Swaythling.
