Frederick Edward Guest, scion of the barons Wimborne, dukes of Marlborough, etc., died in New York, July 8, 2021. He was the younger son of Winston Frederick Churchill Guest (1906-82) and his first wife, Helena McCann, an heiress to the Woolworth stores fortune. He was a grandson of Capt. Hon. Frederick Edward Guest, CBE, PC, MP (1875-1937) and the former Amy Phipps, heiress to the vast American Phipps steel fortune. The first Frederick Guest was a younger son of Ivor Bertie Guest, 1st Baron Wimborne (1835-1914) and Lady Cornelia Henrietta Maria Spencer-Churchill (d. 1927), a daughter of the 7th Duke of Marlborough (and aunt of Sir Winston Churchill). His great-uncle, Ivor Guest, 2nd Baron Wimborne, was made a viscount in 1918.
Frederick Guest (1938-2021) is survived by his second wife, Carole Baldoff Kerr Guest, and four children from his first marriage to Stephanie Wanger, a daughter of film producer Walter Wanger and film star Joan Bennett: Victoria, Vanessa, Frederick and Andrew. He is also survived by four grandchildren, his brother Winston and two half-siblings, Alexander and Cornelia Guest.
