The new baronet only has daughters and he has no brothers.

Who is the heir presumptive?  Is it  his kinsman Archibald James Campbell of Auchinbreck (b. 1943) and if so, from which baronet does he descend?

If he is not the heir presumptive, who is?

Thanks.

From my most recent edition of Burke's Peerage(106th Edition),rather than Burke's Landed Gentry-The Kingdom of Scotland, the convoluted genealogy would seems to show that the present heir-presumptive is this Archibald James Campbell(younger?) of Auchinbreck(b.1943),a divorcee with 2 sons and 2 daus, who is the heir-male of the line of Stuck, descended from the younger brother of the lineal ancestor of the 8th Baronet.

None, he is from a collateral branch, but the baronetcy was created with remainder for heirs male.

Jelena, does that mean there is no heir to the baronetcy?

Thanks.

All male members of the family are in remainder to the baronetcy.(including the Duke of Argyll).

This is one of those situations where the patent was made out to Heirs Male rather than Heirs Male of the Body

So, actually, who is next in line is what I am asking?

Thanks.

That was the case with the majority of the Scottish baronetcies created from 1625 down to the The Treaty of Union(1707),apart from a few notable cases such as Dalyell of the Binns and Dunbar of Hempriggs, etc.
