_.Major Sir Hervey James Hugh Bruce-Clifton, 7th Bt, late the
Grenadier Guards, died in South Africa, 7 February, 2010. He was 57.
He was born 4 Sept, 1952, son of Sir Hervey Bruce, 6th Baronet
(1919-71), by his wife the former Crista Irene Valentine de Paravicini
(d 1984); He married (i) 1979 (div 1991), Charlotte Sara Jane Gore,
scion of the Earls Temple of Stowe, and sister of the Duchess of
Norfolk, daughter of John Temple Gore, by his wife the former Serena
Margaret Mounsey; married (ii) 1992, Joanna M. Pope, daughter of Frank
Pope. Succeeded to the baronetcy on the demise of his father in 1971;
assumed by Royal Licence the surname of Bruce-Clifton in lieu of his
patronymic, 1997. The baronetcy now passes to the son of his 1st
marriage, Hervey Hamish Peter Bruce-Clifton1 b. 20 Nov 1986.
