The engagement is announced between Malcolm, son of Mr and Mrs Hamish McCorquodale, of Hethe, Oxfordshire, and Flora, younger daughter of Brigadier and Mrs Bruce Russell, of Stobo, Peeblesshire.
Malcolm George McCORQUODALE (born 1989) is the son of Hamish Norman McCORQUODALE (born 1945) and Mary Anne COOKSON (born 1952)
Hamish Norman is son of George McCORQUODALE (1904 - 1979), scion of that LG family, formerly of Cound Hall, and the Hon (Charlotte) Enid LAWSON JOHNSTON (1910 - 1991), dau of the 1st Baron LUKE (1873 - 1943) and the Hon Edith Laura St John (? - 1941), dau of the 17th Baron ST JOHN OF BLETSO (1844 - 1912)
Mary Anne is the dau of Peter Henry COOKSON (1908 - 1992), son of Philip Blencowe COOKSON (1871 - 1928), sometime head of that LG family of Meldon Park, and Gwendoline BRASSEY (1876 - 1947), a scion of (but not descended from) the BRASSEY earls and BRASSEY of APETHORPE barons, and Edith Joan BOSCAWEN (1909 - ?), a scion of the FALMOUTH viscounts, the SMITH-DORRIEN-SMITH LG of Tresco Abbey (and hence the ABEL SMITH LG family, and all the connections to the Royal Family and others this brings), etc etc.
