From the Times of 12 Feb 2022: PELHAM Michael Alan died peacefully at home on 2nd February 2022, aged 95. Former choral scholar of King’s College Cambridge. Greatly loved by his wife, Lucy, his children Charles and Laura, and his grandchildren Henry, George and Ava. Private family funeral. Thanksgiving Service at Beaulieu Abbey to be announced.

He was s of Harry Alan PELHAM 1891-1971 (s of Capt Hon Victor Ralph PELHAM 1866-1927 (s of 3rd Earl of YARBOROUGH 1835-75 and gs of 2nd Earl of LISTOWEL 1801-56 etc) by Gertrude Emma ADAMS [1864]-1911 (whom he m in 1893)) by his 19 May 1915 m to Doris Millicent TAUNTON 1895-[1985]. He m 1958 Lady Lucy Helen EGERTON b 1937 (raised to the rank 2002) d of Cyril Reginald EGERTON 1905-92 (gs of 3rd Earl of ELLESMERE 1847-1914) and Mary 1909-49 (d of Rt Hon Sir Ronald Hugh CAMPBELL GCMG 1883-1953 and Helen c1880-1949 d of Richard GRAHAM), and sister of the present 7th Duke of SUTHERLAND b 1940, and had a son and a dau as above.

Have I got this right? The late Michael Pelham's father was born out of wedlock and so doesn't appear in the peerage under Yarborough?

Yes, Richard, you are correct.  He is not listed under the Yarborough peerage in the Debrett's database or the last printed edition.
