From the Telegraph of 11 May 2024: COLE Vanessa Nina (née Dudley Ryder) died peacefully at her home on 7th May 2024, aged 73. Beloved wife of Paul and wonderful mother of Alexander, Oliver and Mark, grandmother of 5 much loved grandchildren, and sister to Jennifer and Nick, she will be greatly missed. Private funeral arrangements to follow shortly.

She was d of Edward Dorrien Dudley RYDER 1924-84 (s of Maj Henry Dudley RYDER MC 1894-1958 - gs of 4th Earl of HARROWBY 1836-1900 - and Dorothy Marion STREATFIELD 1894-1968 scion of that gentry family f/o Chiddingstone) and Valerie Nina 1928-2022 d of John Beecroft SOAMES 1884-1951 2nd s of William Aldwin SOAMES 1850-1916 scion of that gentry family of Hamsell Manor and Caroline Louisa 1852-1934 d of Henry Beecroft JACKSON of Whalley Grange. She m 1976 Paul Frederick Irvine Sept 1941 s of Maj Harold W COLE and _ IRVINE, and had three sons as above.

DPB records the m in 2012 of her eldest son Alexander James Irvine COLE b 1977 to Amanda P d of Thompson ROACH of Kentucky, USA. Their son Henry James B COLE was b 2020 (DPB online). The GRO is offline today – is this a good sign that they plan to update entries to end of 2023?!
