From the Daily Telegraph 11 May 2026 -  DE BELLAIGUE Eric died on 6th May, aged 95. Husband of Nike, father of Nicholas and Christopher, grandfather of Otto, Louisa, Max, Jahan and Kiana. Funeral on 3rd June at 2 p.m. at St Mary Abbots, Kensington, W8 4LA. No flowers; donations to the London Library. There will be no memorial service.

He m 1962 Hon Sylvia Corisande RODNEY (1930-1985) dau of the 8th Baron Rodney

His son is the author and journalist Christopher (George Lowther) de Bellaigie. The family may also go by the surname "de Bellaigue de Bughas"

The late Mr de Bellaigue was the elder identical twin brother of Sir Geoffrey DE BELLAIGUE, GCVO, FBA, FSA (12 III 1931 - 4 I 2013), Surveyor of the Queen's Works of Art, 1972-96 and Director of the Royal Collection, 1988-96. They were the sons of the French Viscount Pierre Marie DE BELLAIGUE DE BUGHAS (16 I 1902 - 18 VII 1995?).
