From the Telegraph online 11 July 2021: ELWES Richard James Cary died suddenly whilst at home on Wednesday 7th July 2021 aged 70. Much loved Husband, Father & Grandfather. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday 20th July 2021
He was s of Robert Cary ELWES 1904-87 scion of that gentry family of Roxby and (as her 2nd h) Elizabeth Anne 1914-2001 (formerly Mrs William J H Bankes) d of John Kenneth CRAWLEY 1873-1943 of Quarry Hill, Brancepeth, co Durham by his 1902 m reg Q4 Hants to his 2nd w Cecily Frances BOOKER 1879-1932. He m c1997 reg Q1 W. Sussex Joelle M M WALLACE and had issue.

Mr Elwes' mother was a member of the Crawley landed gentry family. Per company records, his wife's christian names in full are Joelle Madeleine Mary, and she was born on 1 July 1955.
