From the Telegraph of 6 Jan 2026: BROWNE Mary (née Cornish-Bowden) died on 30th December 2025 aged 99. Widow of Jock (George) Browne RA and beloved mother of Beth, Penny, Ali and Sarah and loving grandmother and great grandmother to many. Funeral at 12 noon in Sherborne Abbey on 12th January.

She was d of Lt-Col Robert Kenrick CORNISH-BOWDEN OBE 1879-1928 scion of that gentry family of Black Hall and Marjorie 1899-1995 d of Thomas William DONALDSON 1865-1925 of Southfield, Newton Abbot by his 3 June 1890 m (St Mary, Tyndall’s Park, Glos) to Ethel Laura FREWER 1868-1963. She m 14 Sep 1946 (Minden, Germany) Maj George Shaw BROWNE 1924-2020, and had four daus as above.
