The engagement was announced 1 October, 2005, between Samuel George
(Sam) Mercer Nairne (b. 1976), 1st son of Lord Robert Harold Mercer
Nairne (b. 1947), of Meikleour, Perthshire, by his wife, the former
Jane Elizabeth Gordon (scion of the Marquesses of Huntly), & Mlle.
Claire F. Aussudre, daughter of the late M. Jean-Charles Aussudre and
of Mme Francoise Aussudre, of Bordeaux.
Sam Mercer Nairne is a grandson paternally of the 8th Marquess of
Lansdowne, PC (1912-99), and a grandson maternally of Lt-Col Lord
Douglas Claude Alexander Gordon, DSO.
