From the Telegraph of 9 Aug 2022: TROTTER OF MORTONHALL AND CHARTERHALL Major Alexander Richard, CVO; late of the Royal Scots Greys, peacefully at home on 3rd August 2022 aged 83. Dearly beloved husband of Julia, loving father of Henry, Edward and Rupert and proud grandfather. Private funeral followed by a Service of Thanksgiving at 12 noon on Tuesday 6th September 2022 at Duns Parish Church. He was s of Maj Henry Redvers TROTTER 1902-62 whom he succ as head of that Scots gentry family (14th of Mortonhall and 5th of Charterhall) and Rona Margaret MURRAY c1915-85. He m 1970 Julia Henrietta MBE b 1946 d of Capt Sir Peter McClintock GREENWELL TD 3rd Bt 1914-78 and Jean Henrietta Rose 1920-2010 d of Peter HAIG-THOMAS 1882-1959 and his 2nd w Lady Alexandra Henrietta Alice AGAR 1897-1971 d of 4th Earl of NORMANTON 1865-1933 and gd of 4th Earl of STRAFFORD 1831-99 etc .
