ARCHDALE
Captain Sir Edward Folmer, 3rd Baronet, of Riversdale (Co. Fermanagh),
on Friday 31st July after a long illness, aged 87 years. Mentioned in
Dispatches in 1940.—(HMS Sabre, Dunkirk) and awarded the DSC in 1943
(HMS Unbroken, Mediterranean petrols 1942-43). Survived by two
children and three grandchildren. Service to be held at 2 p.m. on
Thursday 13th August at St. Mary's Church, Caterham, Surrey CR3 5RA.

His unmarried son Nicholas Edward b 1965 succeeds him as 4th Bt. He is
the only son by his former wife (m 1954 div 1978) Elizabeth Ann
Stewart dau of Maj-Gen Wilfrid Boyd Fellowes Lukis CBE (linked to LG
Fellowes-Gordon formerly of Knockespoch)
The heir presumptive is now MERVYN TALBOT Archdale b 1924 and m 1951,
Aureole Helen (d 1998) dau of Rev Canon Robert Hamilton WHELAN. Their
only son Lt-Cdr Peter Mervyn RN (b 1953) is the next heir. He m 1976,
Caroline Anne dau of Norman Richard Charles GRIFFIN, of Hong Kong and
they have a son, Jonathan Talbot b 1982.
The new hp is the son of William Porter Palgrave Archdale CBE
(1883-1956) 2nd son of 1st Bt and Alice Edith Palgrave (d 1963) dau of
Capt Charles Alexander Price CHETWYND-TALBOT (E Shrewsbury scion).
