_. The Hon Gerard Eyre Wriothesley Noel, who died 27 July, 2016, aged 89, was a scion of the Earls of Gainsborough (Earl, UK cr 1841), & a former editor of the Catholic Herald.
He was born 20 Nov 1926, the second son of the 4th Earl of Gainsborough, OBE (1884-1927), by his wife the former Alice Mary Eyre (d 1970); married 1958, Adele Julia Patricia Were, by whom he had 2 sons and one daughter.

His death notice in today's Daily Telegraph mentions his grandchildren being Luke, Marina, Daniel, William and Phoebe. Phoebe is the only one not mentioned in the latest Debretts so a fairly recent birth - don't think it's been picked up by this group - maybe daughter of Robert Noel
