From the Telegraph of 15 Nov 2025: CAIRNS Francis (Frank) died peacefully on 1st November 2025, aged 83. Beloved husband of Mouche, adored father of Catriona, father-in-law to Alex and grandfather of Hughie and Clara. Donations to Parkinson's UK.

He was s of Hugh William CAIRNS 1911-96 (gs of 1^st Earl CAIRNS 1819-85, as well gs of 6^th Duke of BUCCLEUCH 1831-1914, etc etc) and Diana Katherine 1917-97 d of Capt Arthur Granville SOAMES OBE 1886-1962 sometime head of that gentry family of Hamsell Manor and Hope Mary Woodbine PARISH 1893-1980 scion of that gentry family of Fareham Park (and gt gd of 10^th Lord TORPICHEN 1770-1862). He m 1983 Ulla Agneta (Mouche) d of Sten BYLANDER at Göteborg, Sweden, and had a dau as above.
