The 3rd Viscount Buckmaster, OBE, died 8 June, 2006. He was 86.

Martin Stanley Buckmaster was b 11 Apr 1921, son of the 2nd Viscount
(1890-1974), by his 1st wife Joan; and was educated at Stowe; FRGS;
entered Foreign Office 1946 Political Officer, Abu Dhabi 1955-58,
First Secretary (Information) British Embassy, Benghazi 1958-62, and
Tripoli 1962-63, First Secretary (Political) Bahrain 1963-67, Foreign
Office 1967-69; First Secretary and British High Commissioner,
Kampala, 1969-71, British Embassy, Beirut 1971-73; Foreign and
Commonwealth Office 1973-77; HM Charge d'Affaires and Head of
Chancery, Yemen Arab Repubic 1977-81 (ret); Capt Royal Sussex Regt
(TA) 1939-46, served in Middle East; OBE (Civil) 1979.
Succeeded t the viscountcy (cr 1933) on his father's demise, 1974;
unm. He had a yr brother, the Hon Colin John Buckmaster (b 17 Apr
1923; d 30 Nov 2003), and the peerage now devolves upo his Lordship's
nephew, Adrian Charles Buckmaster, b 1949.

Funeral on Thursday 21 June at St Mary the Virgin, Brettenham,
Ipswich.

According to Debrett's 2003, the new viscount is married with 3
children including a son, Andrew Nicholas, b. 1980. He also has 2
younger brothers, one of whom has 3 sons. No succession worries here!
