+ Mariequita Radcliffe (1916-2005)

Mariequita Radcliffe, who died at her home, 12 October, 2005, aged 89,
was the mother of the Most Rev. Fr Timothy Radcliffe, OP, Prior
Provincial of the Order of Preachers (The Dominicans) 1988-92, then
Master of the Order of Preachers, 1992-2001.

She was born Maria Therese (known as "Mariequita") Pereira, 29 August,
1916, third daughter of Major-General Sir Cecil Edward Pereira, KCB,
CMG, of the Coldstream Guards (1869-1942) by his wife the former Helen
Lane Fox (d. 1957), daughter of George Sackville Frederick Lane Fox,
JP, of Bramham Park, Boston Spa (head of that BLG family).

She married 15 Apr, 1937, Lieutenant-Colonel Hugh John Reginald Joseph
Radcliffe, MBE, second son of Sir Everard Joseph Radcliffe, 5th
Baronet, of Rudding Park, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and St Trinian's
Hall, Richmond, North Yorks, and had issue:-

The funeral takes place at the Roman Catholic Church, Whitchurch,
Friday 28 October, 2005.
