From the Telegraph of 8 March 2016: LAKIN Julian Barklie on February 23rd 2016 aged 67. Tragically in Antigua. Adored husband of Penny. Wonderful father to Olivia and Arabella. Grandpa to Elliot. Thanksgiving Service on March 18th at 2 p.m. at St Peter’s Church, Seaview. Donations, if desired, to Hampshire and IOW Air Ambulance.

He was s of Lt-Cdr Richard Barklie LAKIN DSO DSC (1914-2011), scion of the Bts of that name, and his 1st w Pam(ela) Mary Helen (1919-81) d of Gp-Capt Philip Stuart JACKSON-TAYLOR (d 1945). He m 1973 Penelope Jane d of John ALMOND of Burghclere, Berks, and had two daus as above.
