From the Telegraph of 18 Oct 2021: SWEENY, Brian Charles. He was born Brian Charles Sweeny on April 5th 1940 at the Dorchester Hotel to British socialite Margaret Whigham (later Margaret, Duchess of Argyll) and American businessman Charles Sweeny. Mr Sweeny was one of the youngest students to be admitted to Oxford University, Christ Church at age 16. A financial investment consultant, Mr Sweeny spent many years working in New York and London and was a long-standing member of Whites Club. He is survived by his two children, Stephanie Glenister, and Charles Sweeny as well as his grandchild Esme and sister, Frances, Dowager Duchess of Rutland. Funeral services will be held at the Farm Street Church in Mayfair on November 9th 2021 at 11 a.m.

He was s of Charles Francis SWEENY 1910-93) and as her 1st h Margaret 1912-93 d of George Hay WHIGHAM (whose only surviving dau Frances Helen b 1937 (Francis, Duchess of Rutland) m 1958 as his 2nd w the 10th Duke of RUTLAND 1919-99). Mrs Sweeny m 2nd 1951 as his 1st w the 11th Duke of ARGYLL 1903-73. The couple divorced in 1963, after which the former used the style Margaret, Duchess of Argyll. Brian m 1978 reg Q4 London Judith M DUBELAAR b c1946 and had a son Charles Cornelius b 1981 reg Q4 London, and a dau Stephanie Frances b 11 Nov 1983 (Times 14 Nov & reg Q4 London) as above.
