From the Telegraph of 11 March 2021: BURY John Edward, BA (Oxon.) DL, died peacefully on 7 March 2021 , aged 93 years . Beloved husband of Diana, much loved father of Henry, Mary, Anne, Eleanor, Jane and Clare and devoted grandfather (Papa) of Edward, Nicholas, Annabel, Charlie, Daisy, Felix and Toby. Donations to British Red Cross (Devon Branch) c/o L. Clarke of Braunton.

He was s of Col John BURY (1896-1969) and as her 1st h Ruth Alice 1900-82 (who m 2nd 1939 Brig Sir Gerald Fisher KBE) d of Brig-Gen Sir Edward Thomas LE MARCHANT 4th Bt 1871-1953 and Evelyn Brooks KNOWLES 1877-1957. He m 1961 Diana Mary b 1932 d of Lt-Col Godfrey Sturdy INCLEDON-WEBBER 1904-86 scion of that gentry family of Buckland, and Angela Florence 1905-91 d of Sir Pierce Thomas LACY 1st Bt 1872-1956, and had two sons (incl Edward John b&d 1970) and five daus.

The following extract is from Debrett's ed 1957, Knightage section, pg 1089, and relates to Brig Sir Gerald Fisher KBE:

"Fisher Brigadier Sir Gerald Thomas K.B.E., C.S.I., C.I.E., son of the late Professor William Rogers Fisher, of Coopers Hill;
b. 1887, ed. at Bradfield Coll., and at Lincoln Coll., Oxford ( B.A. 1908, M.A. 1909); is Brigadier  late Indian Army (Political ser.) appointed
Resident in Gwalior 1937, and in Central India 1940; was .Mil. Gov. Somaliland Protectorate 1943- 8, European War 1914- 19 in France
and Mesopotamia (despatches) , Afghanistan 1919..."

The service is for Mr Bury & his wife, DIana Mary nee INCLEDON-WEBBER 1932-2021

Diana Mary BURY nee Incledon-Webber died peacefully surrounded by family on 18 March 2021, aged 88. Sorely missed by her children Henry, Mary, Anne, Eleanor, Jane and Clare and grandchildren Edward, Nicholas, Annabel, Charlie, Daisy, Felix and Toby but now reunited with her beloved husband John, who died just 10 days earlier. Joint Memorial Service on 18th October 2021. L.Clarke & Sons, Braunton.
