From the Times of 2 Aug 2025: HALL John Douglas Hoste, university professor, poet and lecturer, died on 22nd June at home in Totnes, Devon, aged 80.

He was s of Sir Douglas Basil HALL 14th Bt 1909-2004 and Rachel Marion 1909-90 d of Maj Ernest Alfred GARTSIDE-TIPPING 1860-1932 scion of that gentry family (now RICHARDSON) of Bolton and Jane Margaret 1865-1946 d of Maj-Gen Dixon Edward HOSTE CB 1827-1905 (s of Sir George Charles HOSTE CB 1786-1845 who was 3^rd s of Rev Dixon HOSTE 1750-1805 who was f of Sir William HOSTE 1^st Bt 1780-1828) by his 4 Aug 1857 m (Colney, Norfolk) to Mary SCOTT 1837-1908. He m 1972 (div 2009) Angela Margaret d of George KEYS of Buckfastleigh, Devon, and had two sons. His elder son succeeds him.

Sir THOMAS JAMES Hall 16^th Bt has yet to establish his claim, b 10 Dec 1975, unm.

BERNARD NEVILLE b 19 Feb 1979: m 2008 Susannah Marie HOPKINSON and had a son, Joseph Dylan George b 2009.

There are no other heirs in line to this baronetcy.

His younger brother, BERNARD NEVILLE (B. 1979) is the hp, and both of his sons are now shown as well.
