From the Daily Telegraph 15 March 2025 - JAMES, Julian, died peacefully at home on 6th March, aged 85. Beloved husband of Hilary for nearly 60 years, much loved father to Kit, David and Andrew and adored grandfather to Iona, Archie, Hamish, Will, Mima, Herbie, Freddie and George. Private funeral. A Service of Thanksgiving at Elie Parish Church on Friday 9th May at 2 p.m. No flowers but donations, if desired, to Children First. Please email sandyfi...@gmail.com if you wish to attend.

He was the son of Capt Christopher Alexander JAMES RN (1916-1969), scion of the Dunbar of Hempriggs Baronets (NS 1706) being descended, through his mother, from Col James DUFF, yst brother of the de jure 5th Baronet, and (m 1938) Cynthia SWIRE (d 1971) descended from the 2nd Earl of Glasgow. He m 1965 Hilary Jane b 1945 d of Capt Thomas Gillespie BROWNE RE (d 1997) and (m 1943) Susan Monica SMITH (1921-1999) scion of the Earls of Kintore  being descended from Lady Blanche Catherine, 2nd d of the 8th Earl 

Mr James was a page at the 1953 Coronation being one of the two pages of Viscount Cunningham of Hyndhope, Lord High Steward, who bore St Edward’s Crown

The Dunbar of Hempriggs Baronetcy of 1706 is unusual in that the remainder was to "heirs whatsoever", so that Julian James was in the line of succession to the Baronetcy despite his descent from the 1st Baronet going through more than one female.
