From the Telegraph of 1 Oct 2024: VERNON Dawnie, adored wife of Greville, devoted mother to James, Zara and Sasha, and much loved grandmother to Amber, Tilly, Charlie, Georgia, India and Sienna. Dawnie took her final flight on 18th September at the Royal Trinity Hospice, Clapham. A Service of Thanksgiving for our beloved Dawnie will be held on Friday 25th October at St Mary's Church, Wotton-under-Edge at 12 noon.

She was d of Lt-Col William Handley FERGUSON 1902-72 and Jessie Rosalie 1911-89 d of Sir James Herbert CORY 1^st Bt 1857-1933 and Elizabeth Cansh WALKER 1875-1956. She m 1969 Greville Edward Mervyn b 1944 s of Maj Mervyn Sydney Bobus VERNON MVO 1912-91 (gt gs of 1^st Baron LYVEDON 1800-73) and Lady Violet Mary BARING 1911-78 d of 2^nd Earl of CROMER 1877-1953 and Lady Ruby Florence Mary ELLIOT-MURRAY-KYNYNMOUND 1886-1961 d of 4^th Earl of MINTO 1845-1914 and Lady Mary Caroline GREY 1858-1940 (gd of 2^nd Earl GREY 1764-1845, etc), and had a son and two daus as above.
