She was d of P B FARRIE. She m 1952 Guy Lawrence Gordon (b 1928) s of F/Lt Henry Michael GORDON CLARK, RAFVR (1896-1976) whom he succ as head of that gentry family f/o Mickleham Hall, and Gwendolyn Emily (1896-1986) d of Herbert Arthur MARRINER of Auckland, and had two daus.

Pauline guise Fairrie was the daughter of. Michael. Denis Fairrie by his second wife Phyllis Bowen Godwin (1897-1977):  (married 1934-dissolved ,). I don’t understand why she was born Parsons.f

The birth of Phyllis Bowen GODWIN was registered in Kingston, Surrey in Q4 1897. She would appear to be the Phyllis B GODWIN whose marriage to Maurice G PARSONS was registered in St George Hanover Square, London in Q2 1925. A birth of a child, Pauline G PARSONS, was registered in Chelsea in Q2 1929.

In the Free BMD entry for the second marriage of Michael D FAIRRIE, registered in Chelsea in Q3 1934, his bride's name is variously shown as Phyllis B Bowen, Phillis (sic) B Godwin and Phyllis B Parsons.

My guess, although it is only conjecture, is that Mrs Gordon Clark took the surname of her mother's second husband after that marriage took place. Certainly, when her own marriage took place on 3 October 1952, her surname was Fairrie - see page 42 at http://priorsfield.cook.websds.net/Filename.ashx?tableName=ta_priorsfieldmagazine&columnName=filename&recordId=63.

Incidentally, it appears that Mrs Gordon Clark's husband died on 5 January 2020, aged 91 - see https://wincollsoc.org/news/ow-obituaries.
