From the Telegraph and Times of 24 May 2018: WYNDHAM Anne died peacefully on 21st May 2018, aged 92. Mother of Jane, Henry and the late Melissa. Grandmother of Rupert, Dominic, Ali, Ned, Leo and Wilby. Details of Memorial Service to follow.

She was d of Maj Hon Reginald Henry WINN (1899-1985, s of 2nd Baron ST OSWALD) and Alice (1902-2001) d of Thomas Moncure PERKINS (1861-1914) of Virginia, USA, and Elizabeth Dabney LANGHORNE (1867-1914). She m 1947 (div 1982) Hon Mark Hugh WYNDHAM (1921-2008) s of 5th Baron LECONFIELD (1883-1967) and Gladys Mary FARQUHAR (d 1971), scion of the Bts of that name cr 1796 and of the BEAUFORT, SUTHERLAND & HAMILTON dukes, the TWEEDDALE & AILSA marquesses, the GALLOWAY, DUNDONALD &  EGLINTON earls and many, many more families of whom we treat, and had 2 daus and a son as above. Her surviving dau (Elizabeth) Jane (b 1948, the interior designer Jane Churchill) was 2nd w (of three) of Lord Charles George William Colin SPENCER-CHURCHILL (1940-2016) s of 10th Duke of MARLBOROUGH and had issue.

Would she still be Hon Mrs Mark after a divorce? Or just Mrs Anne Wyndham?

Whatever the 'official' view of the matter is I've seen divorcees both keep and ditch the handle. Perhaps treat my subject heading as referring to what she definitely was for a while....

Interesting that she is referred to as Hon Anne W - that seems to suggest that she was the daughter of a Viscount or Baron? As a divorcée wouldn’t she have been styled Hon Mrs Anne W? I think it was Jennifer’s Diary that always referred to Mrs Thatcher as Mrs Denis Thatcher as Mrs Margaret Thatcher suggested they were divorced

Court Circular, June 27th

The Queen was represented by The Duchess of Cornwall at the Memorial Service for Mrs. Anne Wyndham which was held in Chelsea Old Church, Old Church Street, London SW3, this afternoon.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by Mrs. Peter Afia.
