As per SS’s suggestion I have compiled a list of Baronets who were clergymen. I have come up with about two hundred Baronets who were members of the clergy. While this is likely the great majority of such baronet-clergy, I do not claim that it is complete. Some Baronetcies created after 1900 are not yet in my files, and in the other Baronetcies I could not find the clergy if I mis-marked them or failed to mark them as clergy at all.

Also, note that this list is not in alphabetical order, even if large parts of it seem to be. It’s just in the order I found them as I combed through the files.

There was also a Catholic priest who was stationed at Brompton Oratory, he was a baronet and died within the last 3 years or so. Also one could inclue the Cardinal Duke of York, a man who has more right to that peerage than the Germans who supllemented the Stuarts.

Thank you all for your contributions, especially Paul for his lists on both peers and baronets. I am sure there will be many more examples of clergymen in the peerage for us to explore in future and to find the hidden ones.

Marquess, You must be thinking of Fr Dilke whose death was reported here last year - he is on Paul's list above

Fr Barrett-Leonard, whose death LoopyCrown3 mentioned above, was also a priest of the Brompton Oratory

three more from volumes 1 nd 2:

Rev.Sir William Graham, 6th Bt. [of Eske] (1730-21 Sep 1774); on the death of the 3rd Viscount Preston he assumed the title as 4th Viscount, though he was not entitled thereto, and he was, apparently, generally so called; further, though his successors apparently used the title, Cokayne notes that most works on the Peerage and Baronetage did not include this Baronetcy until about 1819, on the grounds that the 1690 forfeiture had not been reversed

Rev. Sir John Staples, 5th Bt. (22 Sep 1684-1730)

Rev. Sir George Booth, 6th Bt. (20 Mar 1724-7 Nov 1797)

" Rev. Sir Thomas Bankes, 5th Bt. (30 Mar 1724-25 Jan 1799)"

should be " Rev. Sir Thomas Bankes I'Anson, 5th Bt. (30 Mar 1724-25 Jan 1799)"

This brings up our clergy baronets to more than 300 at this point. Quite a number when you compare them to the peerage.

But you were closer the first time :)

If I counted correctly it was close to 200 on my original list, and with the ones added since then it is much closer to 300 than to 100. Maybe I, or someone, will organize them into a single list once all submissions are in. The peers are nearing 100,

Paul, I just counted the baronets  at 263. The peers at 107. I already sorted the peers into a list alphabetically by title, which I will publish soon. I will do so the baronets at a later date since they require a bit more scrutiny to figure out their exact ecclesiastical post.

one new one:

Rev. Sir Thomas Vesey, of Abbey Leix, Bp of Killaloe and Ossory, cr Baronet 1698 (1673-1730)

and one footnote:

Rt. Rev. George Pretyman (9 Oct 1750-14 Nov 1827), Bp of Lincoln 1787-1820, Bp of Winchester 1820-7; took surname Pretyman-Tomline in 1803; m.1784 Elizabeth Maltby (bur 13 Jun 1826); he was served as heir male to Sir Thomas Pretyman, 4th Bt., and assumed the title. His pedigree is suspect, and there is no evidence about the remainder in the original creation; George P-T’s connection and claim to be heir male goes back many generations before the 1st Baronet. He had three sons, but none ever claimed the title

Rev. Sir Henry Bourchier Toke Wrey 10th Bt (1829- Mar 1900)
