...Toby Francis Henry Jessel was born on July 11 1934, the younger son of Commander R F Jessel DSO DSC OBE and great-grandson of Lord Bearsted, founder of Shell.... [He] married Philippa JEPHCOTT in 1967. They were divorced in 1973, and in 1980 he married secondly the operetta singer Eira Heath, who survives him.

He was s of Cmdr Richard Frederick JESSEL DSO OBE DSC RN (1902-88) by his 1926 m (reg Q4 London) to Winifred May LEVY (1905-77) d of Maj Walter Henry LEVY DSO (1876-1923) and Hon Nellie SAMUEL (1883-1962, d of 1st Viscount BEARSTED (1853-1927)). He m 1st 1967 (div 1973) Philippa Brigid (b 1947 reg Yorkshire) d of Henry Caley JEPHCOTT (1910-90) by his 1940 m (reg Q2 Yorkshire) to Kathleen KERINS (1912-2000), and had a dau (Sarah Katherine 1970-76). He m 2nd 1980 Eira Gwen (b 1936 reg Essex, the operetta singer) d of Horace M HEATH and Marigwen _.
