She was d of Col Reginald Edmund Maghlin RUSSELL CVO CBE DSO (1879-1950), scion of the BLOOD Irish gentry family, and Dorothy Barrington CRAKE (1883-1962). She m 1st 1949 Maj Sir Mark BARING (1916-88) s of Hon Windham BARING, scion of the CROMER earls, and Lady Gweneth Friday PONSONBY (1888-1984) scion of the BESSBOROUGH earls, and had two daus. She m 2nd Maj-Gen Lord Michael FITZALAN HOWARD GCVO CB CBE MC (1916-2007), scion of the NORFOLK dukes etc.
