CROSSMAN
Humphrey. Berwick upon Tweed. Peacefully in hospital on January 27th
2011, aged 86 years. Beloved husband of Rose, much loved father of
Emma and the late David, grandfather of Alice, Sophia, Johnny and
Isabelle. Funeral Service at St Mary's Church, Holy Island on
Wednesday 9th February at 1.30 p.m. Family flowers only please.
Lt-Col Humphrey CROSSMAN (1924-2011) Head of that gentry family of
Cheswick and Lord of the Manor of Holy Island and son of the previous
family head Maj-Gen Francis Lindisfarne Morley Crossman CB MC
(1888-1947) and Ruth dau of Capt Vernon GARTSIDE-TIPPINGE (1852-1934),
of that gentry family (now RICHARDSON) of Bolton. Lt-Col Crossman m
1956 Lady Rose Maureen ALEXANDER (b 1932) dau FM the 1st Earl
ALEXANDER OF TUNIS and , and had a son and a dau as follows:
David Lindisfarne Alexander CROSSMAN 1956-97 m 1985 Jane (formerly Mrs
Lusk) dau of S J HAMP-ADAMS of Harare, Zimbabwe and had two daus
(Alice Patricia b 1986, who succeeds her gf as head of the family, and
Sophia Rose b 1988).
Emma Margaret CROSSMAN (b 1959) m 1984 Christopher William Kennard
BALDWIN of Forge Farm, Goudhurst, Kent TN17 2QZ, and has a son and a
dau.
